Today’s Steelworks announcement is going to hit incredibly close to home for a lot of local families.

For some, one of the first thoughts after hearing news like this will understandably be:
“How are we going to manage the mortgage?”

While financial counselling isn’t my area, I am a mortgage broker with many years of previous banking experience. If you’re worried about your home loan or simply don’t know what your first step should be, I’m only a phone call away.

If a quick conversation can help point you in the right direction, I’m more than happy to have it.

Most importantly, if you think you may have difficulty meeting your mortgage repayments, please contact your bank or lender’s financial hardship team as early as possible.

Don’t wait until you’ve missed repayments or things have become overwhelming. There may be hardship options available depending on your circumstances, and asking for help early gives you more opportunity to work through them.

Whyalla has some excellent free services available, including financial counselling through Centacare, and I’ve added some other support contacts below for anyone who might need them.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! 💙

Being a Dad is hands down one of the best jobs I’ll ever have… even if apparently it now includes being a passenger while my daughter drives 🫣

But in all seriousness, becoming a Dad changes what you work for!

You start thinking less about just right now and more about the life you’re creating for your family. The memories, the opportunities, the security and the place they get to call home.

It’s a huge part of what drives me personally, and probably one of the reasons I genuinely love helping other families work towards their own home and future too!!

Today though, the home loans can wait 😅

Here’s to all the dads, stepdads, grandads and father figures doing their best to build a great life for the people they love.

We’ve hit that part of the year where September turns into October… October disappears… and suddenly everyone’s saying:

“I’ll look at it properly after Christmas.”

🔨 One day...

That bathroom will get renovated
