🏡 HOME STAGING TIP: Clear the Physical Clutter AND the Mental Clutter

When buyers walk into a home, they’re not just looking at the space.

They’re also processing everything in it.

Too much furniture, crowded countertops, overflowing shelves, busy décor and rooms trying to serve too many purposes can create physical clutter.

But it also creates mental clutter.

Instead of noticing the size of the room, the natural light or how they might live there, buyers are busy trying to make sense of everything they’re seeing.

Good staging doesn’t mean stripping a home of personality or making it look like nobody lives there.

It means giving the buyer’s eye somewhere to rest.

Clear the surfaces. Create simple pathways. Let each room have an obvious purpose. Remove anything that competes with the features you actually want buyers to notice.

Sometimes the best staging advice is simply:
