People say, “You can do hard things.”
Most of the time, we nod and move on without really thinking about what that means.
But sometimes life hands you something so heavy, so unfair, so life-altering that simply getting out of bed becomes the hard thing.
Today marks 8 years.
And while that story is for another day, this anniversary reminds me of something important: we don’t get to choose every hard thing that happens to us, but we do get to choose what happens next.
Eight years later, I’m still here. Still growing. Still loving. Still finding joy. Still building a life I’m proud of.
Not because it was easy.
Not because I was fearless.
But because one day at a time, I kept going.
If you’re carrying something heavy right now, whatever it may be, this is your reminder that strength doesn’t always look powerful.
Sometimes it looks like showing up. Sometimes it looks like surviving. Sometimes it looks like taking the next step when your heart is tired.
We can do hard things.
And sometimes, when we look back, we realize we’ve already done things we never thought we’d survive. ❤️
