Moving or adopting a cat? Help set them up for success:

1. Keep them indoors for 4 to 6 weeks.
This helps them learn that this is where home is now.

2. Remember the 3 3 3 Rule.
3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to settle in, and about 3 months to fully adjust.

3. Update their identification.
Make sure their tattoo and/or microchip has your current phone number and address.

4. If they go outdoors, choose safer options.
A catio or supervised harness time is best. If your cat is free roaming, use a breakaway collar with an ID tag and consider a GPS tracker, like Tractive.

CR PAWS adoption policy: Cats adopted through our rescue are indoor-only because we believe it's the safest option for the cats.

Many cats go missing because they instinctively try to return to their previous home. A few weeks of patience now can prevent a lot of heartache later.

Come spend the day with me downtown in Campbell River!

I'll be with CR PAWS from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM in front of the Discovery Inn on Shoppers Row, then heading across the street to Royal LePage Advance from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Stop by Royal LePage for free water, popcorn, and cold treats, and don't forget to bring the kids to enter our coloring contest!

Canada Day Plans?

I'll be volunteering with CR PAWS from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM in front of the Discovery Inn on Shoppers Row, so if you're out celebrating, come by and say hello!

Then, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, you'll find me across the road and out front of the Royal LePage office. We'll be handing out free water, popcorn, and other cold treats to help you beat the heat. Don't forget to enter the kids' coloring contest while you're there!

I'd love to see you, whether it's with CR PAWS or at the office, come by!
