The storm pond sees a lot of visitors this time of year.

Ava (and her owner Martin) were out for their morning walk around the pond. A heron and a few sandpipers have been wading the shallows. Carol stopped by for the first time, camera in hand, waiting for the dragonflies to sit still. And a garter snake was spotted in the grass close to the edge. All part of the neighbourhood.

Meet the Hope Cottage. Same floor plan, four homes, four different looks. Charcoal siding with three active dormers along the roofline and a cheerful yellow front door. Stone exterior with dark trim and a single gabled roofline. Soft blue-grey siding with a covered porch wrapped in hydrangeas. Matching peaked roofline windows in a softer grey, with flower boxes spilling over the railings.

This is the second house design in the series, showing how one thoughtfully designed bungalow can look completely different from the outside while keeping the same functional layout inside.

Yesterday the New Amherst team hit the course for the Inclusion Northumberland 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament in support of the “A Place to Call Home” campaign. We were proud to take part as the Gold Tee Sponsor.

Proceeds from the tourney go toward a custom home for four young adults with complex medical needs, being built right here in New Amherst.

Great weather, good company, and an even better cause.
