Visit the Golf Ball Lady at Craigleith Ski Club, where every golf ball sold helps support My Friend’s House.

All proceeds from the sale go directly toward helping women and children in our community find safety and support.

What an unforgettable night at the HeART of Red: Live Painting Experience! Together, we raised an incredible $47,985 to help women and children feel safe, supported and empowered as they rebuild their lives.

Our heartfelt thanks to the talented artists who brought the evening to life, every guest who placed a ballot or made a bid, and the generous friends who curated the Springtime Sing & Serve and Osler Bluff Ski Day with Team Canada Olympians experiences.

On Saturday September 26, Ashley’s Sunflower Day: Move. Play. Grow Hope. at Duntroon Highlands brought close family and friends together in honour of Ashley Milnes.

Together, they raised an incredible $48,831.45 to help grow hope for women and children in our community.

Care begins with listening. 

On Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, My Friend’s House honours residential school survivors and remembers the children who never returned home. We honour their families and communities, whose lives continue to be affected by the legacy of residential schools.

Our work is guided by compassion, dignity and respect. Today, we take time to listen to Indigenous voices, deepen our understanding and reflect on our role in building a community where women and children feel safe, valued and supported.

We carry that responsibility with us beyond September 30th, through continued learning and the relationships we build every day.

At 14 years old, Grace, a Métis artist from Tiny, Ontario is our youngest competitor.

Grace draws inspiration from the natural landscapes and wildlife that surround her home. Working across a variety of mediums, she explores colour, texture, and perspective through a distinctive and expressive style.

Through her artwork, Grace reimagines familiar subjects in fresh and thoughtful ways, reflecting her connection to the vibrant ecosystems of Southern Georgian Bay.

Meet the Artist - Sarah Hancock

Sarah’s creative practice begins with the land, gathering foraged materials and bringing them into conversation with textiles, craft, and the domestic sphere. Working from an ecofeminist perspective, she explores the connections between nature, femininity, care, and reclamation.

This year’s Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts Robert G. Kemp Arts Award recipient, Sarah is excited to share fungi- and dye-inspired workshops with the South Georgian Bay community while preparing for her solo exhibition next October in Collingwood.

Meet the Artist - Janet Saunders

Janet studied art at the Toronto School of Art and Sheridan College and continues to paint full time from her studio. She is also a member of Studio XX; a group of artists connected through their shared commitment to creative practice.

After exploring many mediums, Janet now works exclusively in acrylic, using vibrant colour to capture the beauty, movement, and energy of nature.

We can’t wait to welcome Janet’s vibrant colour and love of nature to  HeArt of Red.

Meet the Artist - Maddy Dececco

Based in Collingwood, Maddy is an abstract fine artist whose work is inspired by the natural world around her. Through colour, line, and shape, she creates pieces that invite viewers to look deeper and discover new layers within each composition.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a BFA in Fine Arts and an honours specialization in studio arts, Maddy draws ongoing inspiration from the bay, mountains, and endless forests that surround her home.

We’re excited to have Maddy’s colour, curiosity, and connection to place included in HeArt of Red.

Meet the Artist - Robert Pointer

Based in Grey Highlands, Robert is an award-winning artist, educator, and musician whose work has been exhibited since the 1970s. A figurative artist, he primarily creates acrylic paintings on canvas, drawing from observation, personal experience, and a deep connection to his subject matter.

Working across realist, impressionist, and abstract traditions, Robert brings decades of experience and artistic exploration to his practice. Since retiring from a 25-year teaching career, he has painted full time, gained acclaim, and continued to inspire artists of all ages through classes at his rural studio near Eugenia.

We’re honoured to have Robert’s talent, experience, and creative spirit included in HeArt of Red.
