Higgins Excavation has an opportunity for a full-time Grader Operator. This position is primarily road construction in the forestry industry; however, we do offer a full suite of residential excavation services, therefore adaptability is a key attribute we are looking for in an applicant.

This position offers 50-60 hours per week, with compensation of $28 per hour. Travel provided.

The ideal candidate will possess:
▪️Experience is preferred
▪️Must have and maintain a valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and a clean driver's abstract
▪️Commitment to the safe and efficient operation of the Grader
▪️Attentive to detail with solid critical thinking and decision-making abilities
▪️Working safely and demonstrating the ability to follow direction are conditions of employment.

Although we guarantee a minimum of 40 hours per week; it often requires 50+ hours per week. We’re offering compensation of $24 - $28 per hour dependent on experience. The position is best suited for an individual who is adaptable and willing to hop in other gear, such as the dump truck when the need arises.

We’re incredibly grateful that the driver of the pickup truck wasn’t seriously injured. Vehicles can be replaced, and our grader can be repaired—but a life is irreplaceable.

This could have been much worse. Let it serve as a reminder to stay focused on the road and avoid distractions. Someone is counting on you to make it home safely.
