Over 60% of Southlands Tsawwassen is dedicated to public farmland
(approximately 325 acres). However, the original farmland was highly compromised due to a lack of irrigation water and sufficient drainage.

It was not viable for growing much and was limited to a few select crops with very inconsistent harvest results. In order to become productive, the farmland needed a significant improvements.

Irrigation.
Extensive drainage improvements.
An upgraded pump station.

With our contribution of over $10 million in funds and improvements, the farmland is now highly productive, generating 3 to 4 times as much economic value from the farmland.

Farmland that was once underwater 6 to 8 months of the year, and barely grew crops, now grows an abundance of food for the community!
