“Several organizations have shared with us that reliable transportation was a gap in local services.”

Hope Mission is expanding its rescue van operations into British Columbia, with new teams now serving communities in Victoria and Metro Vancouver.

The rescue vans provide transportation, wellness checks, bag lunches, and connections to shelter, housing, addiction recovery, and mental health services. They also help bridge gaps between vulnerable community members and the supports they need.

Trapped by a nine-year battle. One weekend concert turned into a long struggle with addiction and homelessness on the streets of Edmonton. After reaching her breaking point, Dawn walked into Hope Mission, chose recovery, and is now celebrating four months of hard-won sobriety while working to finish her education.

Thank you to everyone who walked, volunteered, gave generously, encouraged, and supported the No Child Hungry Walk this past Saturday!

Across Alberta, your communities rallied together to raise a goal of $23,550, which is 8,722 meals for hurting and hungry children and families.

But, because of the generosity of all of you, your friends and families, and your close connections, we surpassed the goal for a grand total of... 🥁🥁🥁

$30,059.70!! 🎉

That's 11,133 meals for children and families in need in Alberta!

All because of YOU!! Thank you so much for your care and compassion for struggling children and families. They will be blessed because of you!

“We keep hearing how clean the streets look now.”

Business owners are noticing cleaner streets in Chinatown. Hope Mission's community revitalization team recently narrowed the focus of its neighbourhood cleanup efforts, so sidewalks near the two largest shelters are getting more frequent pressure washing.

“It’s things like that that make you realize they really do care about the businesses around them and look out for their neighbours.”

Today is the No Child Hungry Walk!

Parents in Edmonton are having to make the tough choice to either put food on the table for their children or to pay the bills. But, today we walk to show that there are compassionate people, just like you, who care enough to help them along the way as they work hard to provide for their families.

It's not too late to give a kind-hearted gift at www.hopemission.com/nochildhungry/edmonton to ensure children don't go hungry today.

Thank you for your care for kids who are struggling in our city. 🧡

New bed dividers are being installed at the Red Deer shelter this week. These panels provide additional dignity and privacy for shelter guests.

Hope Mission began operating the shelter on April 1. It offers 158 permanent, semi-private sleeping spaces—including bunk beds and single-style beds—along with extra sleeping mats for surge capacity.

One choice, everything lost.
After twenty years of struggle spiralled into homelessness, Richard was guided into Breakout, Hope Mission’s addiction recovery program for men, because your compassion provided a path when he had no options left. Now over a year sober and serving as a team leader, his life has been transformed into one of purpose and leadership because you chose to believe in his recovery.
