📽 September 28-30, 2026, Chatham-Kent Tourism hosted Global TV “Local Escapes” host Liem Vu in Erieau for a focused “ wellness tourism fall weekday getaway" shoot. The theme and timing were key components for consideration of this partnership opportunity through our Regional Tourism Organization (RTO) Southwestern Ontario Tourism Corporation (SWOTC) and Destination Ontario.
"Local Escapes" is a travel and community-spotlighting segment hosted by Liem Vu that airs on Global News broadcasts (such as Global News Morning) and online via the Global News Video portal and YouTube.
We are very excited to share a few behind the scenes photos capturing a small snapshot of the work done over 72 hours in Erieau. CK Tourism was on hand for the ex*****on of this project to assist Global TV and Destination Ontario in order to capture the essence of Erieau, as based on the prescribed requirements and criteria to make their vision come to life.
Thank you to everyone who had a hand in this project within Erieau, specifically noting the tremendous assistance from:
Willow Barrel Retreat
Molly & O.J.'s Restaurant
Bayside Brewing Company
Ageless Arts Yoga
We additionally thank the many locals we encountered and assisted us. Thank you for welcoming our teams with open arms, sharing lively stories and showing immense pride all Erieau and Chatham-Kent has to offer.
We are told this could air as soon the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend, and once we hear more, will share any specifics.
We appreciate there was not room for everything Erieau has to offer to be covered in such a short feature (and falling within the parameters prescribed). That said, we believe the spirit of Erieau within Chatham-Kent has been captured beautifully, enticing a deeper dive by folks themselves into all there is to see and do once it airs.
Spread the good news!
