This closing day feels a little extra special. ❤️🏡

Three years ago, my nephew and his wife bought their first home. Today, that chapter officially comes to a close as they hand it over to its new owners.

It may have only been three years, but a first home is a pretty special place. It’s where you figure out homeownership, make it your own, create a whole bunch of memories (have a bunch of kids)…and eventually start dreaming about what might come next.

For these two, what comes next is already waiting. Their new home doesn’t close until October, so today isn’t quite moving day just yet. It’s simply a chance to celebrate how far they’ve come and say goodbye to the home where this part of their story began.

Being their Realtor was pretty special. Being their aunt and getting to watch them take this next step? Even better. ❤️

There’s something extra special about a first home. 🏡❤️

Today is closing day for some very excited first-time buyers, and I couldn’t be happier for them as they officially become homeowners!

Working with first-time buyers is one of my favourite parts of real estate. There are lots of questions, plenty of “what happens next?” moments, and sometimes a few nerves mixed in with all that excitement. I love being able to guide them through it, explain the things they’ve never had to think about before, and help them feel confident in the decisions they’re making along the way.

And then a day like today arrives, when all of those steps finally lead to one pretty exciting sentence:
