Just hanging out with Lisa before I hit the road for another busy weekend 😎☀️

We’ve got a packed few days ahead in Fort McMurray, and I’ll be out and about checking out everything happening around the community. If you see me and the cruiser, make sure you come say hi!

The FMSPCA has begun construction of a mobile veterinary clinic that will bring essential preventative veterinary care directly to communities without access to veterinary services. Through FMSPCA Spay & Neuter programming, pets will be able to receive spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, microchips, de-wormer, and more all while remaining in their home communities. Eliminating many of the barriers in access to veterinary care for countless families across the RMWB. Although we have raised 90% of our goal, we are still $30,000 short for the construction and initial operations of the mobile clinic.

Phoenix Heli-Flight has stepped up and offered to match all donations to this Canada Helps campaign up to $15,000 in order to meet our goal! Not only that, they've offered a helicopter tour to the largest cumulative donor!

There could be a new waterfront community gathering space near Gregoire Lake Estates. Residents of the community are encouraged to share their thoughts in a survey or attend an in-person engagement event as the Municipality explores options.

The space could provide passive-use activities, such as a place to walk, relax, enjoy nature, and gather with others near the water.

Engagement opportunities will close Sept. 18, 2026.
