Renting in Ontario? Here’s the number to know for 2027.

The rent increase guideline is 1.9%, down from 2.1% in 2026 for most rent-controlled homes and apartments.

And remember, your landlord has to give you at least 90 days written notice before increasing your rent.

I went to a showing today and the seller did something that I think every homeowner should do.

A binder. Every upgrade they've made to their house since they bought it. The date, what it cost, why they did it.

Nothing complicated. Just kept up, year after year.

Here's my honest take: you do not need to be selling your house next month for this to be worth doing.

Start now. Write down the roof, the furnace, the windows. The small stuff too, the paint, the fence, the little fixes. Ten minutes a year, that's it.

Whenever the day comes that you do sell, whether that's next year or in fifteen, your future self will thank you.

Popped into Backpeddling with Inge. 20 minutes later I was test riding an ebike and grinning from ear to ear.

Anyone else own an ebike? Is it worth it?

We were craving a veggie dog from Rocky’s, but they were closed so we headed to Easterbrooks Hotdog Stand in Burlington.

They’ve been serving hot dogs since 1930. They have a ton of options and the fries were perfect.

The best surprise? Lunch for two, including hot dogs, fries, and pops, was just $21.

If someone tells you they know exactly what the Guelph real estate market will do over the next couple of years, be skeptical.

The reality is that nobody has a crystal ball.

We can look at trends. We can share opinions. But they’re still opinions.

What doesn’t change is that people buy and sell because life changes. New jobs, growing families, downsizing, retirement, those moments matter more than trying to perfectly time the market.

Buying or selling a home doesn’t always happen during business hours.

I’ve noticed a trend where people talk about late night calls and weekend messages like they’re the downside of the job.

I don’t see it that way.

It’s a privilege to help someone through such an important milestone, and if that means picking up the phone when they need me, I’m happy to do it.
