Oh Hello, October.

As we settle into the last quarter of the year, we can't help but reflect on why we do what we do at Legend!

For us, the “why” is pretty simple. It’s our family. Our three kids. It’s having more time together and building a future that gives us more choices.

It’s why we get up every day and do the work to grow Legend, while also growing our own wealth through the same passive real estate model we offer our investors.

And when we asked others what would make their lives better, the answer we heard most was TIME.

More time with family. More time to travel. More time to do what they love, with the people they love, when they want to do it.

Then we asked what would help make that possible.

The most common answer? More money.

Not simply to have more, but to have more freedom and more choices.

That’s a big part of why we built Legend. To create another way for families to grow their wealth without adding another job to their lives.

10–15%* is our target. It isn’t a ceiling.

That’s an important distinction.

Legend targets an annual return of 10–15%*, but that target doesn’t mean your potential return is capped at 15%. There is no predetermined maximum return built into the investment.

And that becomes particularly interesting when you think about where Legend is today versus where the portfolio could be five years from now.

When you invest in Legend, you’re purchasing units in the Trust, not investing in just one individual building. As the portfolio grows, your investment participates in the broader portfolio.

We started with one property.

Our second property is now under contract.

And we continue to review opportunities as we look for the right additions to the portfolio.

That’s the power of getting in while something is still growing.

Our units originally launched at $10.00. Today, they’re $10.70 per unit. What will they be worth five years from now? We can’t predict that, and there are no guarantees.

But that’s exactly the point.

You’re not investing based solely on what Legend owns today. You’re investing in a long-term buy-and-hold strategy designed to grow through income, property performance, potential appreciation and the strategic expansion of the portfolio.

The 10–15%* is the target.

It is not the maximum.

And for long-term investors, understanding that difference matters.

There's something people don’t talk about enough when it comes to real estate investing:

Sometimes you’re not just buying an investment. You’re buying yourself a job.

Owning a rental property is considered a more active form of real estate investing. Yes, you own the asset and potentially benefit from rental income and long-term appreciation, but there’s another side to the equation: your time, responsibility and capital.

You may need to find and screen tenants, collect rent, coordinate repairs, handle maintenance, manage renovations, keep records, deal with vacancies and unexpected expenses, and stay on top of the financial and legal responsibilities that come with being a landlord.

You can hire a property manager, of course, but that becomes another expense that needs to be factored into your returns.

That’s why it’s important to understand that buying a rental property isn’t the only way to invest in real estate.

A REIT, or Real Estate Investment Trust, offers a more passive approach. Instead of purchasing an entire property yourself, you invest into a trust that owns and operates real estate. The professionals behind the trust handle acquisitions, due diligence, financing, property management and the ongoing operation of the portfolio.

The trade-off? You don’t have the same day-to-day control of the property that you would as an individual property owner. But for some investors, that’s exactly the point.

It becomes a question of what you actually want from real estate:

Do you want to own and operate property yourself?

Or do you want real estate exposure without taking on another job?

Sometimes, the biggest part is simply getting started, choosing an investment that makes sense for you, and then giving it time.
