🚨 Ontario landlords and tenants, BIG LTB changes are here! Effective September 21, here’s what you need to know:
🏠 N4 Notices: The notice period for non-payment of rent has dropped from 14 to 7 days.
📅 Persistent Late Payments: Rent paid more than 7 days late at least 3 times in 6 months may now qualify.
🔑 N12 Notices: For a landlord’s own use, giving at least 120 days’ notice can eliminate the requirement for compensation or an alternate unit. This excludes purchaser-use N12s.
⚖️ New rules also affect renovictions and what tenants can raise at non-payment hearings.
