In 2025, DK and RT set aside part of their commissions to give $2,000 to the food bank. This August, Team Rice was back as a proud hole sponsor at the Flames for Food Celebrity Pro-Am at Copper Point. The Calgary Flames Alumni event raised $42,733.95, and every dollar went to the Columbia Valley Food Bank.

What should you check before buying a building lot in Windermere, BC? 🏔️

Pedley Heights is a quiet neighbourhood in Windermere, on the east side of Lake Windermere, with community trails, a sport court and garden plots run by the community association. Invermere is about 15 minutes away.

If you're shopping for a lot in the Columbia Valley, check these three things before you write an offer:

1️⃣ The title. Many subdivisions register a building scheme with rules on roof pitch, siding and minimum home size.
2️⃣ Services. Confirm water, sewer or septic, power and internet to the lot line.
3️⃣ Permits. Windermere is in the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK), so zoning and building permits go through the RDEK.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we're wearing orange for the children who never came home from residential schools, and for the survivors and families who still carry that history.

As a Métis family, this day is personal for us. It's a day to listen, to learn, and to remember that every child matters, then and now.

One job. 😅

DK is holding the SOLD sign backwards. We only noticed after the photo. The house sold either way — Team Rice represented the buyer on a home in Fairmont Hot Springs this month.

Here's what they were buying into: mountain views from the driveway, hot pools five minutes away, two golf courses in the village, and Invermere about 25 minutes north for schools, groceries and the hardware store.

Fairmont is the trade a lot of people are happy to make — a bit more distance for a lot more space. Winter down here is quiet, and for most owners that's the reason, not the compromise.
