Big news!

I am a Silver Sponsor of the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo this year, and I could not be more excited about it.

You will see me on the Jumbotron, in the arena, and most importantly in person at my booth all weekend.

Somebody I met while volunteering at a local playgroup referred this client to me.

First-time buyer interested in a 1915 home that needed love and a lot of work.

Contractor meetings, estimates, long conversations about what was possible and what it would actually cost. The listing realtor and seller were good people to work with, and that made a difference.

We got it $60,000 below asking.

Now the fun part starts.

I cannot wait to see what they do with it.

The North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo is the kind of event I genuinely love showing up to.

I believe community should come first.

I believe we are here to help each other.

That is how I was raised, and it is how I have operated in this world.

I grew up going to fall fairs in small BC towns. Entering baking, preserves, garden produce. Earning a ribbon or two. Watching my kids do the same thing years later.

The North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo is not a marketing opportunity for me.

It is a community I genuinely want to be part of. One that has reignited something in me about rural living, land, and what it means to be somewhere that still takes care of itself.

I am a member of the association. I am a sponsor. And I will be there all weekend because that is what showing up actually looks like.

This one had a lot of moving parts.

Two sets of tenants. An out-of-country seller. Vacant possession required before the new owners could take over. RTB regulatory compliance running alongside everything else.

All of it at once requires everyone doing their job properly and on time.

Lawyers, the seller overseas, tenants, the other side of the deal. Every single party had to show up, and they did.

Possession happened on time. New owners got exactly what they were promised.

I love me a good “behind the scenes” coordination that just goes right.

Proud of this one.

The RCMP Musical Ride is coming to Barriere, and this is not a regular summer event.

32 riders. Horses. Formations and cavalry drills set to music. Plus a meet and greet after the show.

This does not come back to BC until 2030.

Friday August 21 at the N.T.F.F.R. Grounds Main Arena. 6 pm to 8 pm. Tickets start at $15.

Why am I a member of the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association?

Why do I sponsor it?

Why does a realtor from Kamloops care this much about a small town fall fair?

Here is the honest answer.

I grew up going to fall fairs in small towns in BC. I know what it feels like to walk through the gates as a kid knowing school was just around the corner. I entered my baking, my preserves, my garden produce. Walked away with a ribbon or two. Someone might even call my butter tarts award-winning.

When my kids were young, they entered their own creations. It was one of the best ways I knew to spend time with them while being part of something bigger than ourselves.

I was raised with the phrase “Many hands make light the work.”

I have carried that with me my entire life.

The North Thompson community has reminded me of something I did not realize I had been missing. The desire for rural living. Land, gardens, nature, and a community that still shows up for each other.

That is why I am here. That is why I sponsor this event. That is why I will be at that booth all weekend.

Community comes first. It always has for me.

They are also paying attention and an overpriced listing in a busy market sits longer and signals something is wrong before anyone even walks through the door.

Kamloops is not the lower mainland.

Our market has stayed relatively stable while Vancouver has been volatile.
