When you are building a new custom home, there are many things to consider. Purchasing a new home is usually the biggest purchase of your lifetime, so getting it right matters!

Your designer or design builder can take your ideas and create a set of floorplans that matches your family’s needs and wants. They can set the size of your kitchen and bedrooms, and position your bathrooms and living spaces. So what does an interior designer do?

An interior designer helps perfect the vision of your home. This can include everything from suggesting finishing products like flooring, lighting, and paint, to finding the perfect colours and accents to suit each room’s purpose. They can tie your vision together and curate the overwhelming number of decisions needed when building a custom home.

Interior designers don’t just help with decisions and organization. They’re really there to help you translate your personality and passions into features in your home. There are some specific ways an interior designer can help bring your dream home to reality.

1. Customize your floorplans and cabinet layouts
2. Co-ordinate your materials
3. Choose quality products made to last
4. Plan furniture placement and room function
