In the Indigenous world, summer is a time for feasting and celebrating the gifts of Mother Earth, especially the bounty of plant foods and the beauty of nature.

We are grateful for the rain and the moderate temperatures that we are enjoying in this area, knowing that many First Nations across the country are severely challenged by hot temperatures and wildfires. We hope for relief in the near future for all who need it.

Please join us in the kitchen at Tipi Moza for a feast of wild game meatballs, mashed potatoes, and gravy, along with good company! We’ll be dishing up at 113 Union St. on Tuesday, August 18 from 11:30 until all are served.

In some Indigenous teachings, August is the month of the Ricing Moon. This moon represents balance, harmony, and the future. This is typically a time when wild rice is harvested. Wild rice is known as the “good berry” and is highly nutritious.

We don’t have any wild rice growing at Tipi Moza, but we do have beautiful flower and Medicine gardens, as well as our stately inukshuk and colourful tipi.
Come have a look and then join us in the kitchen for mouth-watering wild game sausages. We’ll be dishing up at 113 Union St. on Tuesday, August 11 from 11:30 until all are served.

Come on down to Tipi Moza and meet our newest employee!
They are of rock-solid character and stand proudly beside our beautiful newly painted tipi, providing a stalwart (but silent) guidepost and landmark for our home.
Great photo opportunities await you…
And after you have finished admiring the view, join us in the kitchen at 113 Union St. for Métis Pasta Supreme – noodles, cheese, broccoli, and ham in a rich white sauce. We’ll be dishing up on Tuesday, August 4 starting at 11:30 and continuing until all are served.

CULTURAL PROGRAMMING AT TIPI MOZA WILL RESUME ON TUESDAY, JULY 21.
Our gardens at 113 Union and across the road in City Park are flourishing with both plants and artwork, and our signature tipi is looking pretty amazing with its colourful new paint job.
We invite you to come and check out our summer look – and then join us for a traditional feast of Sloppy Joes made from wild game in the kitchen. In Indigenous cultures, the feast is much more than food; it’s the people hanging out and enjoying each other’s company.

We hope to see you on Tuesday, July 21. We’ll start dishing up at 11:30 and continue until everyone has been served.
