Departing Madrid this morning. Loved it and learned lots.... including that it has the fifth largest theatre district in the world (outside Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York). Also like New York, there's a HUGE park in the middle of the city (it's actually way bigger than Central Park!). On food and drink ... squid sandwiches are a popular snack, their sangria is the best I've ever had , and it's not customary to tip. While that sounds amazing, it means the service is slowwww- way worse than Mexico. We were also confused about our dinner bill being less than the prices on the menu. Apparently you get ten percent off your bill if there's more than three people in your group 🧐.

As five female travellers we always felt safe, there is always something to do, and if you need a "city fix" in Europe I'd highly recommend.

This is a new season in more ways than one as our sellers say goodbye to life in the Lower Mainland in search of the slower pace that island life brings.

Vancouver Island has been the number one place our sellers have retired to over the years. The Okanagan is a close second.
