There is something powerful about gathering at a threshold.

A moment to notice what has been, what is ready to be released, and what we are making space to welcome in.

This November, we’ll gather at The Reverie for Śrī: A Diwali Retreat with Goddess Lakṣmī, a two-day immersion in ritual, reflection, light and sacred abundance.

Guided by Satya Amrita Kumari Jehman and Sarada Jagannath, we’ll explore Lakṣmī not simply as a symbol of prosperity, but as an invitation into beauty, nourishment, generosity, grace and a deeper relationship with flourishing.

Through sacred storytelling, mantra, pūjā, reflective writing, movement, silence, mandala creation and ritual, we’ll spend the weekend asking:

What are we nourishing?
What are we ready to release?
Where are we being invited to receive?
And what do we wish to tend more consciously in our lives?

This retreat is for those who feel drawn to experience Diwali with reverence, depth and intention and to step away from the noise of everyday life for a weekend of beauty, ritual and reflection.

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day 🧡

This Saturday, we gather in healing community with our elders and we sit at the feet to learn from the people of this land.

I’ve been looking forward to this day for a long time a full day with Smulthun, Thomas George Jr., and Candice Harris George, learning through making, listening, and being together around the plants of this place.

There will be cedar, sweetgrass, devil’s club, quxmeen, tea on the table, medicine being prepared by hand, and space for the kinds of conversations that we are blessed to be a part of.

About relationship. About responsibility. About how knowledge is carried. About how we gather, what we take, what we leave, and what we owe back to the land.

We’re almost sold out, and I’m so grateful for the people who have chosen to spend this day with us.

Always book the shoot 💋

And always trust CAROL | BRAND IDENTITY & PHOTOGRAPHER 👌🏼

Was I scared? Hell yeah. Was it worth it? 💯

Because they exist now. Whether I post them or not, whether I put them or not. The option is there.

And I got to see myself in a way that I never have before.

Carol, you’re the bomb 🖤

This will be so amazing! Can’t wait to host this gathering 🖤

Diwali is the seasonal celebration of illumination - a time to light our homes, dispel darkness, and make space for what we wish to welcome into our lives

At the heart of this retreat is Śrī, the sacred presence of Goddess Lakṣmī: beauty, nourishment, auspiciousness, abundance, harmony, generosity and grace.

Rather than approaching Lakṣmī simply as the goddess of material wealth, we will explore Śrī as a deeper principle of flourishing - reflecting on what allows abundance to enter and remain in our lives, what we nourish and value, and what we may be ready to release to create space for receiving.

Over two days, we will journey from the outer light of Diwali toward an inner experience of Śrī. Through the stories and symbolism of Lakṣmī, yoga asana and pranayama, guided self-enquiry, reflective writing and sacred ritual, we will explore our relationship with abundance, beauty and receiving. We will create a lotus flower mandala, enter into Lakṣmī Pūjā, chant the Lakṣmī Aṣṭakam, and light lamps as an embodied reminder of the light we consciously tend within ourselves.

Through silence, reflection and ritual, we will create space to recognize the abundance already present in our lives, and close with a golden milk ritual to gather the experience inwardly and carry the qualities of Śrī into our everyday life.
This is an invitation to enter Diwali as a celebration of light, and a practice of cultivating beauty, making space to receive, and consciously tending what we wish to flourish.

All are welcome.

YOUR WEEKEND RETREAT INCLUDES:
- Daily Śrī Lakṣmī-Inspired Asana & Pranayama Practice
- Storytelling, Symbolism & Mantra Chanting including Lakṣmī Aṣṭakam

- Lotus Mandala Creation & Meditation
- Guided Self-Inquiry, Writing & Reflection

There is so much more to knowing a plant than knowing what it can be used for.

This gathering is about relationship with plants, with place, with the teachings carried through generations, and with the responsibilities that come with receiving knowledge.

We’re honoured to welcome Smulthun, Thomas George Jr., and Candice Harris George to The Reverie for a full day of Indigenous herbalism, land-based learning, storytelling, and hands-on medicine making.

Throughout the day, we’ll work with:

Devil’s club to make salve
Cedar to make essential oil
Sweetgrass to make room spray
Quxmeen seeds, also known as wild celery, for tea

Participants will make these preparations during the gathering and take them home at the end of the day.

Alongside the hands-on work, Thomas and Candice will share teachings around respectful harvesting, reciprocity, habitat, cultural protocols, responsible gathering, and what it means to be in relationship with the land with care.

No previous herbalism experience is needed. Come ready to listen, learn, make, and deepen your relationship with the plants and teachings of this place.

What does it mean to learn from plants with care?

This October, we’re welcoming Smulthun, Thomas George Jr., and Candice George to The Reverie for a one-day Indigenous Herbalism Gathering centred on relationship, reciprocity, respectful harvesting, and place-based learning.

Throughout the day, we’ll spend time with and take home devil’s club salves, cedar essential oils, sweetgrass room sprays, and quxmeen tea through hands-on preparations, stories, and teachings about how we gather, what we carry forward, and the responsibilities that come with learning from the land.

This gathering is for those who want to approach local plant knowledge with curiosity, humility, and respect.

What changes when we stop thinking of plants simply as things we can use and begin thinking about the relationships we have with them?

This October, we’re welcoming Smulthun, Thomas George Jr., and Candice George to The Reverie for a day of learning rooted in Indigenous knowledge, relationship, reciprocity, and care for the land.

There will be medicine making, stories, conversation, and time spent considering not only what we can learn from local plants, but how we approach that learning — how we harvest, what we give back, what knowledge is ours to carry, and what should remain protected.

I’m especially excited for the hands-on part of this day, where we’ll be working with medicines including devil’s club, cedar, sweetgrass, and quxmeen.

If you’ve been wanting to deepen your relationship with the plants and lands around you, this is going to be a really special day.

What if you didn’t wait until you were completely depleted to give yourself a weekend of care?

Soft & Sacred: Autumn is happening October 3 + 4 at The Reverie, and this is your invitation to spend a day or a full weekend being nourished instead of being the one holding everything together.

We’ve created two days with enough structure to feel held and enough space to actually exhale.

You’ll move gently.
Learn about seasonal herbal medicine and Ayurveda.
Gather with cacao.
Rest into the sound of Tibetan singing bowls.
Eat beautiful meals prepared for you.
Sit by the fire.
Use the sauna.
Have space between sessions to rest, wander, talk, or simply be quiet.

And you don’t need to be a “wellness person” to belong here.

You don’t need a yoga practice.
You don’t need to know anything about Ayurveda or herbalism.
You don’t need to arrive calm, rested, or ready to transform.

This invitation is open to all.

Come tired. Come curious. Come needing a little space. Come because autumn is asking you to slow down.

Swipe through to see how the weekend will unfold.

Soft & Sacred: Autumn is an invitation to slow down, be nourished, and spend two days in practices that support connection, reflection, and rest.

The Reverie · Vancouver Island

Across the weekend, we’ll gather for Ayurveda, herbalism, gentle movement, cacao, Tibetan singing bowl meditation, nourishing meals, and spacious time to simply be.

And this invitation is open to all.

You do not need to already practice yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, herbalism, or anything else we’ll be exploring. There is no level of experience you need to arrive with and no particular way you need to show up.

Come curious. Come tired. Come wanting connection. Come wanting quiet.

Come as you are.

Join us for a single day or experience the full weekend. We’re keeping this gathering intentionally intimate with just 10 guests per day, and two private onsite suites are available for those who would like to stay.

One of the things I love most about Soft & Sacred is the richness that comes from gathering around many different voices, experiences, traditions, and ways of knowing.

Centring people from communities underrepresented in wellness spaces is an intentional part of that.

There is so much beauty in learning from people whose lived experiences, cultural knowledge, creativity, and perspectives may be different from our own.

It invites curiosity and deepens conversation.

It asks us to listen differently and creates opportunities for connection that might not happen when we continue to centre the same voices we have always heard.

For me, this is also about building the kind of wellness community I want to be part of: one that is expansive, relational, thoughtful, and rooted in respect.

A community where we can honour difference without asking people to represent an entire identity or culture.

Where we value many forms of knowledge.

Where we remain curious about what we have not yet learned.

And where there is room for all of us to grow through being in relationship with one another.

There is so much wisdom in this world.

I want Soft & Sacred to be a place where we get to encounter more of it.

Join us for our signature offering Soft and Sacred this Oct 3&4.
