Chrysalis Creative Home Staging Inc. Ellen Mann is the award winning owner of Chrysalis Creative Home Staging in Nanaimo, BC, she has had a role in the successful sale of over 1,275 homes

- Staged Properties typically sell for More Money
U.S. Housing and Urban Development reports that staged homes sell an average of 17% more than homes not staged.

- Staged Homes sell faster. MSNBC reported un-staged homes listed for sale spent an average 4.5 months on the market, while at the same time homes staged before listing spent fewer than 1.5 months on the market.

- While there is an

investment made in home staging, there’s a great opportunity for return on the money invested. A recent HomeGain Survey of over 2000 Realtors discovered that sellers who used staging services, recovered up to 500% of the cost upon sale of their homes.

- Most Homeowners can’t see their house objectively. A staging professional can effectively position a home, or give a detailed, step by step 'Staging Plan’, for the the work to be done.

*HGTV recommends staging. In a recent HGTV program called “The 25 biggest Real Estate mistakes”, not staging a home was ranked #1.

- Fewer than 10% of home buyers can see a home’s potential. Especially in a vacant home, where staging is critical. Did you know most buyers estimate an empty home is10% smaller than it actually is? Staging can bring out a home’s potential.

- The longer a home stays on the market the lower the selling price will be. Staging means a faster sale, at a higher price, by adding perceived value.

- Selling a House ‘as is' helps sell its competition. Pretty sells. A properly staged home will meet or exceed buyers’ expectations when they walk through the door.

Yesterday we roughed in the staging at our upcoming 7000 Ft2 listing, and today will be spent accessorizing. We are working with the client’s furniture, art and accessories in many areas, but in a house that size, we brought in two cargo vans of occasional furniture as well as bedding, decor and some extra artwork.

While It might seem that having furniture in place makes a job easier, but it’s actually just the opposite. We have to make the design look seamless, while working with someone else’s taste and choices. These jobs are more stressful, but they’re very satisfying at the end of the day.

Finishing touches are always what brings a place from good to great, and today is when we see the plan come to life. I’m so grateful to have Spaces by Eva helping on this job. She is one of the hardest working women I know, and she’s also a lot of fun to hang out with. She has had some great ideas and I trust her gut.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our son and daughter-in-law's wedding was held at our home, and hiring Chef Luke and the team at Chefs Course Catering was one of the best decisions.
We had countless guests tell us it was the best wedding meal they had ever experienced.
From the moment they arrived, the team was professional, polished, and completely in control. We had planned just to put wine on the tables and to have a self-serve beer station, instead, they quietly ensured everything remained stocked throughout the evening while also serving the wine to our guests at the tables. I had prosecco for the toasts and even that showed up at just the perfect time. The service was seamless and allowed us to relax and enjoy the celebration.
What truly impressed me was the attention to detail. David, one of Luke's assistants, made sure a bubble machine we had purchased to entertain the children stayed filled and running throughout the event. He was friendly, helpful, and offered thoughtful advice whenever needed without ever being intrusive.
Another member of the team, Megan, noticed that the lilies lining our outdoor aisle still had pollen on them. She suggested removing it to prevent stains on the bridesmaids' dresses—a small detail that could have saved us from a major headache. That level of care speaks volumes about this team.
Chef Luke worked with us to customize the menu, which was served “Family style” on platters on the tables. He included handmade perogies to honour our daughter-in-law's Ukrainian heritage. Every dish was exceptional. The standout dishes for me were the grilled peach and burrata salad with pesto, arugula, and candied walnuts, the incredibly tender short ribs with vegetables, and the hazelnut brownies and lemon meringue tarts. The macarons disappeared so quickly that I never even got one—which probably says everything that needs to be said! The charcuterie service was also beautiful and delicious.
Food is one of the things guests remember most about a wedding, and Chef Luke and his team ensured that our guests will remember this one for all the right reasons. The entire experience felt less like wedding catering and more like dining at a Michelin-star-quality restaurant.
If you're planning a wedding or special event and want exceptional food paired with impeccable service, I cannot recommend Chef's Course highly enough.

This property is stunning. We had the privilege of working with Sean McLintock Personal Real Estate Corporation - RE/MAX Professionals to ready this property for market. It’s a must see.

As you know we celebrated the marriage of my son to his beautiful bride this weekend. I want to shout out some of the local businesses and people who helped make their wedding day so wonderful. So I’m starting out with someone special.

Mike, the owner at Four Crows Barber & Shave Co.

He is an important part of our son’s journey, and we’re incredibly grateful for the role he played.

Before starting his own barbershop, Colby worked under Mike’s mentorship and learned a tremendous amount about barbering, customer service, and what it takes to build a successful business. Four Crows is the busiest barbershop in Nanaimo, and the experience he gained there helped shape the professional he is today.

What has always stood out to me is Mike’s character. Even after Colby moved on to open his own shop, Mike remained gracious, supportive, and genuinely happy to see him succeed. That kind of generosity and confidence is the mark of a true professional.

For the wedding, Mike took care of haircuts and beard trims for the wedding party the night before, and everyone looked fantastic. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the attention to detail was evident.

Thank you, Mike, for investing in the next generation of barbers and for continuing to support them long after they’ve left your shop.

Tomorrow is a big day so we’ll be packing for that this morning… but first delivering meal kits for the food bank, and returning items to Cori Lynn's Floral Designs Nanaimo. We gave away some of the most beautiful arrangements made from the spectacular arch they created. ❤️ we had a “Free flowers” sign out and they disappeared quickly!

We are now officially over the halfway mark with meal kits. I have provided 324 of the 600 meals I have committed to providing this year.
