Cruise Week took residents at Chartwell Wedgewood on a virtual trip to Sweden. After exploring Stockholm through a documentary, they hit the dance floor for an ABBA disco and line dancing party, complete with Swedish-inspired refreshments. A fun-filled afternoon of music, movement, and great company! 🇸🇪🍹

Today we had the honour of welcoming Rachel into our community for a smudging ceremony.
Residents had the opportunity to learn about the four sacred medicines and their significance, as well as the traditions and teaching connected to smudging.
It was a beautiful and meaningful experience experienced that encouraged learning, reflection, and connection within our Riverstone community

What a summer!

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our residences and communities across the country, this year’s National Summer Fundraiser raised an amazing $170,000 for Chartwell Wish of a Lifetime - Rêver pour la vie!

Throughout the summer, residents, employees, families, and community members came together through creative events and activities, all with one goal in mind: helping grant meaningful wishes for seniors across Canada.

Thank you to everyone who organized an event, participated, donated, volunteered, or helped spread the word. This incredible result belongs to all of you.

We can’t wait to see the wishes your support will help bring to life!

National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
Today we took time to learn, reflect, and honour the history, culture, and experiences of Indigenous peoples in Canada.🧡

A special thank you to Steven for joining us and sharing an informative presentation with our residents. We were grateful for the opportunity to learn more about Indigenous history and culture, and to see the Indigenous artifacts he brought to share with us.

Today, we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We honour the children who never returned home, as well as the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and their communities.

This day serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of reflection, education, and collective commitment toward reconciliation.

This past weekend, we were honoured to partner with McCormick Dementia Services and The Salvation Army to host a special Caregiver Retreat at Riverstone.

It was a wonderful opportunity for caregivers to connect with others, share experiences, recharge, and enjoy some much-deserved self-care. 🌿

A special thank you to artist and friend Bill for leading a fun and relaxing painting workshop and helping make the day so meaningful.

Our residents had a wonderful time getting hands-on in the kitchen during a special Sourdough Workshop led by our amazing volunteer, Lily

From creating and baking our own sourdough to taste testing, it was a fun afternoon filled with learning, laughter, and, of course, delicious bread! 🥖❤️

A big thank you to Lily for sharing their time, knowledge, and love of baking with our residents.

From Fall Artfull Enrichment Wreath Making, to DromFIT with Ryan, our Activity Assistant, to wonderful entertainment, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

⚾️💙 Take me out to the ball game! We had a fantastic time cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays yesterday. From the excitement of the game to smiles and laughter, it was a day filled with great memories.💙⚾️

This morning, our residents, families, and team members came together at Springbank Park for the Parkinson’s Walk 💙

We had a wonderful time walking together, connecting as a community, and raising awareness and support for those living with Parkinson’s disease. A fun event for such an important cause!
