💬 Owner's Message: "Pretzel is so much more than an outdoor cat he’s basically an unofficial therapy cat for our whole shelter and local homeless community on Dundas unity project. Everyone knows him, loves him, and watches his back, and he brings so much comfort to people here every single day. He always comes home, so his absence is deeply felt by everyone who relies on his presence. Please help us bring our neighborhood boy back safe
How You Can Help:
​Please check under porches, in sheds, garages, or any small covered outdoor nooks he loves investigating small spaces and caves and may have unexpectedly gotten trapped.
​If you see him or think you have spotted him nearby, please don't chase him, but try to keep eyes on him or offer him food.
​If seen or found he is microchipped so you can bring him too any fire department or animal control too get scanned . Or help him get back too unity project 717 Dundas Street or message me and ill come pick him up at a preferred location. "

From protest to progress, the work continues.

Today, on Unity Project’s 25th anniversary, we’re launching 25 for 25 - a campaign to raise $25,000 by Thanksgiving to strengthen the work our community will carry into the next chapter.

Our story began on August 12, 2001. 25 years ago, today.

A peaceful protest at Campbell Park challenged London, Ontario to confront a homelessness crisis that had been ignored for too long. It made people uncomfortable. It stirred people to action. The controversy turned to conversation and brought homelessness and poverty into public view.

When the tents eventually came down, the movement didn't end. The relationships, manifesto, and momentum created in that park became the foundation of the housing outcome-focused organization Unity Project is today.

Shoutout to Fernlea Flowers, who have thoughtfully and generously donated a carload of flowers which staff and residents got started planting to beautify the property and pallets.

Growing Chefs will be coming back next week with some more to plant in all possible locations to work with our residents and support ongoing care.

The flowers were planted in common and public spaces, as well as to beautify/home-ify individual sleeping cabins. Cherry on top of the spring cleaning, and the property is looking fresh and inviting.

Residents are taking pride, continually contributing to the care and maintenance of their temporary home at Unity Project.

Today we remember the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQ+ people (MMWG2S).
This day is a call to remember those who are missing, those whose lives were taken, and the families and communities who continue to grief. It is also a call to confront the ongoing impacts of colonialism, systemic racism and Gender-Based Violence that continues to put Indigenous lives at risk.

We remember.
We believe.
We stand in solidarity.
We commit to change.
