When we opened Garçons, we hoped to create more than a place to stay. We wanted our home to be a place where everyone feels genuinely welcome—a space where people can slow down, connect, and simply be themselves.

Becoming Rainbow Registered | Arc-en-ciel Officiel is one way of saying what has always been true for us: every guest, every visitor, every client, and every member of our community with an open heart and open mind belongs here.

To everyone who has visited our little corner of Rose Bay, shared a story, discovered a treasure, stayed with us, supported our small business, or simply waved as they passed by—thank you. You are what makes this place so meaningful.

To our local community, thank you for embracing us, encouraging us, and helping make Rose Bay the welcoming place we love to call home.

We’re incredibly honoured that Garçons is now Rainbow Registered. 🌈

For us, this is about more than a designation. It’s a promise to continue creating a space where people can arrive exactly as they are and know they belong. A place where diversity is celebrated, differences are embraced, and everyone is met with kindness, dignity, and respect.

Hard-won rights and progress towards equality can never be taken for granted. At a time when many members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community continue to face exclusion, discrimination, and even death, creating safe and welcoming spaces feels more important than ever. We believe community is built when people feel seen, valued, and free to be themselves.

Pride is not only a celebration—it is a commitment. A commitment to standing with one another, lifting each other up, and ensuring that everyone who walks through our doors knows they are welcome here.

Communities are built through people giving their time, their effort, and a little piece of themselves. They are the hours spent helping a neighbour, the willingness to answer a call for help, and the commitment to building a stronger community simply because it matters.

Through Nico’s service as a volunteer firefighter with the Riverport and District Fire Department, and Ish volunteering as Rose Bay’s Fire Commissioner and a member of the RDFD Auxiliary, we have seen firsthand the commitment, dedication and passion in this community.

The Annual Canada Day Fish Fry and Parade are a wonderful celebration of that spirit. They bring together neighbours, families, volunteers, and visitors in a way that feels increasingly rare today, yet remains vibrantly alive in Rose Bay. It is a testament to what can happen when people choose to contribute, connect, and create something bigger than themselves.

Thank you to Edible Maritimes for this beautiful celebration on your pages - you have captured the spirit of the event, but also of this place we are so proud to call home.
