Georgian Bay Live

Georgian Bay Live Welcome to Georgian Bay Live, a community page run by the William Myles Real Estate Team! Hey there! đź‘‹I'm William Myles. All the best Will!!!

I serve my community of Southern Georgian Bay by providing a community website and socials that focus on everything about our community like events, businesses, real estate, local hotspots, etc. Every Monday I showcase a local business in Tiny, Tay, Midland and Penetanguishene. On Wednesdays, I focus on a community leader or place that makes a difference in our area. Of course, I do LIVE shows too

with interesting topics about our community.

🏠I also help those who are looking to relocate in Tiny, Tay, Midland and Penetanguishene as a seasonal cottager or a permanent resident. I've been a Realtor for 5 years and I've served over a hundred families to date. The best praise I've ever received from a client was: "Will is a legend. Tons of energy and 100% committed to YOU. We lucked out to work with him he helped us find the dream property we’d been hunting for. Keep doing what you’re doing buddy, your passion is a boost for the area" Helping people to find their dream home like that, makes me so proud and drives everything I do! If you're looking for a Realtor who has your back and is an expert negotiator, I'd love to work with you, too! I've won the Director Platinum award with Royal Lepage in 2019 and 2017, Presidents Gold award in 2016-2018. When I'm not helping people finding their dream cottage or home, I can be found skiing with my kids, playing hockey with my buddies or even acting in community theatre. My family and I never miss a thing! We love to experience everything Georgian Bay has to offer. Want to learn more about how we can work together? Call or text me anytime! 705-209-2520. Thanks for reading my story!

Most people don’t realize this until downsizing becomes stressful…

One of the biggest downsizing mistakes I see homeowners make is waiting too long to start planning.

A lot of people think they need to tackle everything all at once… but honestly, the smoother transitions usually happen when people start early and take small steps over time.

Even starting with:
✔️ one room
✔️ one closet
✔️ or one simple conversation

can make a huge difference later.

Downsizing doesn’t need to feel rushed or overwhelming.

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s creating a plan that reduces stress and gives you more control moving forward.

And for many people, starting early actually brings a huge sense of relief.

One of the biggest reasons people delay downsizing is because they look around and think:

“Where do I even start?”

After decades in the same home, it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed by the amount of stuff that’s built up over the years.

The key is not trying to do everything at once.

Start small.

One drawer.
One closet.
One room at a time.

And remember — letting go of items doesn’t mean letting go of the memories attached to them.

For many people, downsizing isn’t about losing something.

It’s about creating a simpler, less stressful next chapter.

A lot of people think downsizing is about age… but most of the time, it’s really about lifestyle.

At some point, many homeowners start asking themselves:
“Do I really want all this maintenance anymore?”

And the truth is, many people who make the move wish they had done it sooner.

Less upkeep.
Less stress.
More freedom.

The best transitions usually happen with planning — not during a stressful situation.

If downsizing has been on your mind lately, you’re definitely not alone.

Selling a longtime family home is about so much more than real estate.

For many people, it’s the place where life happened.

Birthday celebrations.
Family dinners.
Kids growing up.
Holiday traditions.
Quiet moments that became lifelong memories.

So when the time comes to move on, it’s completely normal for emotions to surface.

And honestly, nobody should feel embarrassed about that.

A home often represents an entire chapter of life — and leaving it behind can feel overwhelming.

But moving forward doesn’t mean the memories disappear.

It simply means a new chapter is beginning.

I truly believe downsizing and moving should be approached with patience, understanding, and support — never pressure.

Sometimes having the right guidance and a calm approach can make all the difference for families going through this transition.

If you or someone you love has been thinking about making a move, know that you’re not alone. ❤️
