Central Lakes Association of REALTORS® Releases September 2026 Housing Market Statistics

October 3, 2026 – The Central Lakes Association of REALTORS® (CLAR) has released its September 2026 Housing Market Reports, with 1,062 home sales recorded across its six Regions.

“Sales activity is slowing as we enter the fall market, however, we continue to see fluctuations in price trends across the CLAR Region based on location,” said CLAR President Christine Riley. “These differences highlight how localized real estate continues to be, and why it’s important for buyers and sellers to understand the conditions in their specific market. A REALTOR® can provide the local knowledge and insight needed to help navigate those conditions.”

Durham Region recorded 525 home sales in September, down 7.6% from 568 in August. The average selling price edged up 0.8% month-over-month to $829,993, from $823,153 in August. There were 1,840 new listings and 2,635 active listings in September, while homes spent an average of 31 days on the market.

Jamaica 2026 🇯🇲

A big thank you to my friend Veron for inviting me to her lovely home in Jamaica. What a fantastic experience. I got to see so much more than just staying at a resort. Incredible beaches and the stunning views from the country mountain sides. Learnt to cook some great authentic Jamaican meals too. Missing it already.

One of my favourite parts of this job is helping first-time home buyers. There is something incredibly special about handing over the keys to a place they’ll call home for the very first time. It’s more than just buying a house. It’s the beginning of a new chapter, building equity, creating memories, and taking one of the biggest steps toward financial freedom.
This one was especially meaningful. Watching the son of a close friend achieve this milestone made it even more rewarding.
