πΈ RED FLAG: "$299 for a 3-bedroom move!"
Let's do the math:
πΈA legit 3-bedroom move needs:
πΈ6-8 hours labour (2-3 movers)
πΈCommercial truck + fuel
πΈProfessional equipment
πΈInsurance (WSIB, liability, cargo)
At $299? The math doesn't work.
Here's the scam:
BAIT: Crazy low price on Facebook SWITCH: Moving day arrives...
"Actually, stairs are $200 extra"
"Heavy items - $300" "Long carry - $100"
"Packing materials - $150"
Your $299 quote is now $1,200.
And your stuff is on their truck. What do you do?
Real story: Customer's "mover" quoted $400, demanded $1,800 on-site. Customer refused. Movers held belongings hostage until police arrived.
How to spot it:
π© Way cheaper than every other quote
π© Instant price with no details
π© Requires cash deposit
π© No physical address
π© Brand new "company"
