VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Volunteers are at the heart of what we do!
Blessings Thrift shops have been part of the Palmerston & area communities for many years. Our culture of volunteerism, and commitment to being a valued partner, is evident in everything we do.

We are currently looking to fill a few gaps for volunteers to support the retail aspect of the operation. Clerks provide the front-line customer service: handling cash transactions (ringing up purchase into cash register, handling change, and bank deposit) as well as helping with bagging and tidying up the store during opening hours. Each shift requires 2 clerks to ensure there is back-up for each other.

Scheduling is quite flexible within the store hours below. Our current amazing clerks have signed up for the dates & times that work best with their schedules – that’s how we work! We do, though, have some gaps which differ from month to month – that’s where the flexibility comes in. And training from well-experienced volunteers is happily provided 😊.

The store hours* are:
Tuesdays, 1:00 – 5:00
Wednesdays, 1:00 – 5:00
Thursdays, 1:00 – 5:00 and 5:00 – 8:00 (2 shifts)
Fridays, 1:00 – 5:00
Saturdays, 9:00 – 12:00
* Clerks are required to open the stores 15 minutes before each shift, and to process the bank deposit after closing. (Bank is nearby).

Today was a special one. 🤍

This home has been part of the family story for years, originally built by Grandpa, and now officially becoming home to another generation. There’s something incredibly meaningful about watching a property find its way back to family.

Over the course of this journey, we’ve loved hearing all of the reminiscing stories and memories shared about the fun, laughter, and life experienced within these walls over the years. It’s clear this home has meant so much to so many.

To our first time buyer, congratulations on such an exciting milestone. Not many people get to begin their homeownership journey in a place already filled with so much history, pride, and connection. We look forward to seeing you make it your own and continue the story for years to come.

And to Mom… thank you for your trust, support, and for allowing us to be part of something that meant so much to your family. Watching how proud and excited you are made this experience even more memorable.
