For my fellow Lakers looking to get in on the golf cart hype, here is some important information from the boys in blue!!

Have golf cart, will travel!

This year, residents of Sylvan Lake will be able to operate golf carts on municipal roadways. In order to make your golf cart is road-worthy, here's a few things you'll need to do first:

🪪 ensure your golf cart is properly insured prior to registering it with the Town
🪪 complete the necessary registration requirements and obtain a permit sticker & license plate from Municipal Enforcement

Once you're all registered, there's a few things to note before hitting the road:

🛣️ do not operate golf carts on sidewalks, walking trails, ditches, or in parks, green spaces, cemeteries, or playgrounds
🛣️ travel in single file and in the same direction as vehicle traffic on roadway
🛣️ ensure golf cart is equipped with a headlamp, tail lamps, brake lights, and signal lights
🛣️ must be at least 16 years of age and hold a valid driver's license
🛣️ do not operate golf carts at night

The map below shows where in Town golf carts are allowed to operate, where they can cross, and where they are not permitted. The use of golf carts will be permitted until September 30, 2026.
