The Government of Saskatchewan has extended the Secondary Suite Incentive (SSI) for another year. The SSI works because this made in Saskatchewan solution grows rental supply while helping families invest in their homes:

✔️ Creates more housing where infrastructure, schools and transit already exist, improving affordability without changing neighbourhood character.

The results speak for themselves:
In 2025 alone, Regina issued permits for 266 secondary suites and 7 backyard suites. That's real investment, real construction activity and real housing supply coming online.
