June is the perfect time to get your home summer-ready before the busy season begins. With warmer weather, longer days, and coastal moisture still in the mix, a little maintenance now can help prevent bigger issues later.

1. Clean gutters and check downspouts
Remove spring debris and make sure water is draining away from the foundation.

2. Wash windows and screens
Salt air, pollen, and rain can leave a film on glass. Clean windows brighten your home and improve your view.

3. Inspect decks, stairs, and railings
Check for loose boards, soft spots, peeling stain, or moss buildup, especially on shaded coastal properties.

4. Service outdoor taps and irrigation
Test hoses, sprinklers, and irrigation systems before summer heat arrives.

5. Trim back trees and shrubs
Keep branches away from siding, roofs, and power lines. This also improves airflow around the home.

6. Check for exterior pests
Look for wasp nests, ants, rodents, and signs of carpenter ants around decks, sheds, and wood piles.
