In today’s market, experience matters. Here’s why:
This year, we have seen a shift. For years we have been working in predominantly a sellers market. Homes sold quickly, buyers wrote offers before thinking through objections and the pricing strategy was simply, “go higher.”
Now, we are seeing the beginnings of elevated inventory levels in some markets (competition), homes sitting on the MLS for months (creating uncertainty), and buyers taking longer to write the offer.
Finding success in the market requires working with a REALTOR that has experience. Not just in deals, but in markets. The more markets the agent has successfully navigated, the more experience they have to help you succeed.
I’ve been through a few markets by now - starting my career in 2015. I’ve had the opportunity to work through the ones that require skills, strategy and perseverance. Guess which one my favourite one is to work in? No, not a sellers. A balanced one.
