Holding steady, but keeping a close watch.

The Bank of Canada has maintained its overnight rate at 2.25% as signs of economic recovery continue to emerge. Growth is picking up, consumer spending remains resilient, and exports are improving. At the same time, higher gas prices have pushed inflation above 3%, though the Bank expects those pressures to fade and says it's prepared to act if needed.
