I think sometimes in construction, the subtrades and the part they play in a project can get overlooked.

Having strong working relationships with trades you know and trust makes a huge difference. When you have guys that take pride in their work, communicate well and care about the job, it makes my job a lot easier and keeps the project moving.

When everyone knows what’s expected and does their part, the whole job just seems to come together a lot smoother.

A good project takes a lot of people doing their part, and having the right trades around you is a big part of that.

We’ve got something new happening at The Wright Builders.

After 10 years of building homes, renovations and everything in between, we’ve decided to take on a new challenge.

RTM homes.

When we purchased our shop in Erksine, this was part of the plan. It’s something we’ve talked about for a while, and we’ve finally made it happen.

We’ve got everything figured out and we’re getting ready to start our first build shortly.

We’re pretty excited to see this come together and can’t wait to share more as the project gets underway.

We’ve got something new happening at The Wright Builders.

After 10 years of building homes, commercial buildings, renovations and everything in between, we’ve decided to take on a new challenge.

A couple decks the boys crushed off while i was on holidays.

Very thankful to have such a great group of guys working for us. Knowing I can take a week to create memories with the family while things are still being completed to the highest standards is refreshing.

Everyone has this dream of building their own business. But doing so is very time-consuming and requires an insane amount of commitment. And while it’s easy to get caught up in the busy seasons and the commitment that comes with it, we tend to forget how important it is to slow down once in a while and cherish as many moments with your family as possible.

I’m very guilty of putting everything I can into the business, to the point where at times it’s not fair to the family I’ve always dreamed of. Last year was the first year I said, “F*ck it, I’m taking one week a summer off to be with the family,” and hopefully build memories that’ll last a lifetime.

It’s definitely not as much time as I should give, but we gotta start somewhere.

So take the time. Slow down. Create memories when you can. The work will “hopefully” still be there when you get back.

We were able to slip away from our Pine Lake build while drywall is being completed to get this one thrown up. Now this build (Boss hill) is ready for subtrades we can head back and get the Pine Lake home wrapped up. Weather cooperating this last while has really helped us “Catch up” the lost ground from rain days.

June was a month of rain, rain and a little more rain. Greatful for the moisture but looking forward to plugging along with the sun shining and maybe subtract the skeeters.
