You may already know her face, or have had the pleasure to shake her hand but with a new title and full-time position comes a proper re-introduction.

Meet Malt’s Operations and Marketing Manager, Alexa. Aka, Lesley’s right hand for all things operations, staging and design projects and of course, marketing, which just so happens to be where it all started.

When she steps away from the stagings, she’s behind the lens and the screen managing Malt’s socials, creating content, running ads and keeping the website in shape and up to date.

Oh, and before you ask, she can’t play you a song. But she can tell you your lightbulb is the wrong temperature. Only if you ask nicely though.

Buyers have more choices right now than they’ve had in a long time. And that means your listings need to not only stand out but have that inviting first impression that draws people in... literally.

That’s really what staging does. It’s not just about making things look “pretty” for photos (as much as that is a huge part of it). Selling your home is one of the biggest transitions you’ll make, and we don’t take that lightly. There’s history in those walls, and letting go, even temporarily, is not always easy.

Living in a staged home isn’t always practical either, and we know that. But that’s exactly why we walk alongside you every step of the way, giving you the tools and guidance to make it as seamless as possible.

Because at a certain point, the shift has to happen. It’s no longer about your things or the life you’ve built there. It’s about first impressions. It’s about creating space for someone else to imagine their life within those same walls.

We make that transition functional, beautiful, and something you can actually feel good about. But it’s a team effort, and the clients who lean into that mindset are always the ones who see it pay off.

It just needs the right company.

And we know we all love adding and removing those extra layers on the daily, but the impact those subtle textures and colours have is seriously what can make your bed looking a little lifeless to feeling inviting, clean and cozy. (Yes, this works without white bedding too, it just feels that much more crisp and calm with it.)

So the secret really is in the layers. That extra quiltlet or throw and that 1... or okay, maybe 2-3 decor pillows. It can be simple, practical and stunning all at once.

Janette will guide you through creating your own textured mixed media canvas from start to finish. You’ll layer, build, and paint and leave with something that’s completely yours. No experience needed, just come ready to enjoy the process.

We are so excited to welcome Ella, one of our former co-op students, back to the Malt team for the summer.

She’s just wrapped up her first year in interior decorating and we couldn’t be more excited to watch her grow!

Timing in life and business is sometimes divine, and other times it means your trailer goes in for repair for over a month right in the heart of spring market. Perfect timing, as always. 😅

But here’s what we keep coming back to. The community we work with and within is something truly special. These past weeks, so many of you showed up in the most generous, unexpected ways, lending us your trailer, your truck (yes, ours needed a new transmission while the trailer was also down, we couldn’t make this up), and with two stagings often on the books in a single day, we genuinely could not have gotten through it without you.

In thick and thin, we always make it through. 43 homes currently staged, moving parts that literally wouldn’t move if it weren’t for some pretty spectacular people in our corner.

To everyone who helped, you know who you are. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. 🤍
