The Bank of Canada left rates alone again. Here is what that means for Aurora and Newmarket.

The facts: on September 2 the Bank of Canada held its policy rate at 2.25 percent for the seventh straight decision. Big bank prime stays at 4.45 percent. Next decision October 28.

A hold is not a cut, but it is not a hike either. Your variable rate and pre approval math do not change today, and buyers can still plan their budgets.

September in my market. Aurora: 185 new listings, 56 sales, average price $1,165,686, 37 days on market. Newmarket: 234 new listings, 64 sales, average price $915,986, 33 days on market. GTA: 5,040 sales, average $1,006,409.
