Not every home needs the same renovations before it hits the market.
The key is knowing where your money will make the biggest difference.
Take this home, for example. The old carpet and orange-toned wood railing made the staircase and the home feel dated the moment you walked in. The kitchen wasn’t brand new either, but it was clean, well maintained, and still showed well.
So in this case, the staircase was the priority.
In another home, the stairs may be perfectly fine, but dated oak kitchen cabinets could be the first thing buyers notice. In that case, it may make more sense to focus the budget on the kitchen.
Preparing a home for sale isn’t about renovating everything. It’s about fixing the things that are holding the home back.
