The Thunder Bay Community Foundation (TBCF) welcomes 2026 with updates to its Board of Directors, starting with the appointment of Wendy Bell as the new Chair, succeeding Mike Belliveau, who completed his term in December 2025.
Wendy started her journey at the TBCF when she evaluated student Scholarship and Bursary Awards in 2016 and then, in 2020, reviewed charity applications. In 2022, she joined the Board as a Director. She shares, “Through my interaction with Boards and volunteers of major charities and the evaluation process I engaged in at the TBCF, I feel I have developed a greater understanding of the challenges and needs of our youth, charities, and public institutions.”
Alongside Wendy’s appointment, the Thunder Bay Community Foundation has also welcomed Tom Mihaljevic and Mark Clara as new members of its Board of Directors. Tom will be continuing his role on the Financial Stewardship Committee, while Mark will be joining the Governance Committee, as well as the Community Engagement Committee. The Foundation has also named Terri Hrkac as the new Chair of the Community Engagement Committee. Her role will oversee efforts that foster valued relationships with donors, partners, and the broader community.
With these recent changes, the Thunder Bay Community Foundation expresses appreciation for the dedication and service of its Board members whose efforts play a vital role in advancing the organization’s purpose. It also welcomes the opportunity to benefit from the expertise and insights of its newly appointed Chair, Directors, and Committee leadership as they assume their roles and contribute to the Foundation’s ongoing work.
