Toronto’s Vacant Home Tax (VHT) requires homeowners to declare their property as vacant or occupied each year. This initiative encourages property owners to rent or sell unused homes to increase housing supply, with taxes on vacant properties supporting affordable housing programs.

REMINDER - DEADLINE April 30th, 2025 - If you qualify, avoid being charged the Vacant Home Tax which NOW equals 3% of your current assessed home value. I love analyzing numbers. It helps us determine what is happening in the market instead of headlines that can change 180 degrees the next day. Stay, sell, rent, buy, buy more .... it is hard to time the market and it is relative to your own situation.
Generally, the market is still great ... it's becoming more balanced and puts less pressure on you - giving you a bit more time to make a good decision. 😅
