Labor Day is the one that sneaks up on people. Summer is technically still here, but you can feel it starting to hand things over to fall. One last long weekend before the routine comes back.

However you are spending it, whether that is a backyard full of people or a genuinely quiet morning with nowhere to be, I hope it feels like a reward. Because that is what a home is supposed to be. Not just where the work happens, but where you get to set it down for a day.

To everyone in the GTA taking the day to rest, thank you for all the work that usually goes unseen. Enjoy every hour of this one. 💛

Does this happen to you? You’re asked how you’re doing, you answer, and suddenly the floodgates open. Unsolicited advice starts pouring in from every direction, and you find yourself grabbing your blue polka dot rubber duck floaties just to survive. All you want to do is scream, STOP! If you wanted advice, you would have asked for it. You just answered the question, telling them what you were up to, not expecting a life coaching session. Just a casual “oh, great!” or “oh, I’m sorry to hear that” would do.

Wow… where do I begin? ❤️

I feel incredibly blessed and truly overwhelmed by all the birthday love. The phone calls, text messages, social media posts, and heartfelt wishes from near and far have meant more to me than you know.

This birthday was extra special. I celebrated with my husband, my children, and their wonderful partners. Sharing great food, birthday cake, lots of laughs, and meaningful conversations made my heart so full.

The celebrations started with a lovely evening with my dear friends Michelle and Sherry, continued today with my in laws, and will keep going this week with colleagues and business partners. I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by such amazing people.

To everyone who took the time to reach out, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every message, every call, and every kind word made my birthday even more memorable.

I’ve been doing my best to thank everyone personally. If I haven’t replied to you yet, please know I will. I’m still making my way through all the messages and posts, and I truly appreciate every single one.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for making me feel so loved. I am beyond grateful.

I’m on a Montreal food mission. Thirty years in Toronto and I still can’t get these tastes out of my head. My sister surprised me with a steamed hot dog and keto poutine, and honestly it hit different. Now I’m hunting for authentic Montreal-style subs and a proper fondue chinois in the city. If you know where to find these, please help a girl out. Montreal raised, Toronto home, but my heart’s still craving those Montreal hot dogs. Please post your suggestions in the comments.
