Happy Canada Day!

Today we get to celebrate everything that makes this country so special, our stunning landscapes that stretch from coast to coast to coast, our incredible diversity that brings the whole world into one community, and the quiet but real kindness that Canadians are known for wherever we go. Whether you're firing up the barbecue, watching fireworks, or just enjoying a day off with family, I hope you take a moment to appreciate the place we get to call home.

It is easy to take for granted just how much we have to be grateful for here: safe communities, access to healthcare, world-class education, and the freedom to build a life on our own terms. These are not small things, and they are not guaranteed — they are the result of generations of people who worked hard to create a country worth being proud of. Today is a good day to say thank you, to the people who came before us and to the neighbours, friends, and family who make everyday life here better.

And as much as we have to celebrate, I am even more excited about where we are headed. Canada's best days are not behind us, they are ahead of us! As our communities keep growing and evolving, there is a real opportunity to build something even stronger: more opportunity, more innovation, and neighbourhoods that bring people together.

Here's to a great Canada Day, and to all the ways we will keep making this country even greater in the years ahead!

Happy Father's Day to the guys who fix the wifi, assemble the furniture, and grill the burgers, all without once asking for a parade.

You have spent years doing the unglamorous, unphotographed work of just showing up. The 6 AM drives, the "I'm not mad, just disappointed" speeches you didn't actually want to give, the dad jokes you knew weren't funny but told anyway because someone had to keep the bit alive. Nobody hands out trophies for "remembered to bring the good snacks" or "checking the tire pressure before a road trip nobody asked you to check," but you did it anyway, then went and mowed the lawn just because it needed doing. Here is to confidently saying "I got this", even when you are totally panicked and scared inside.

That's the quiet magic of it, you give without a tab running. No scoreboard, no thank-you-card quota, no annual performance review (though if there were, you'd crush it).

So today, even though you would probably deflect with a joke about needing new socks, thank you. For everything you did when no one was counting, except, evidently, all of us. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
