Blockchain is a system of recording information in a way that makes it difficult to change, hack or cheat the system.
A blockchain consists of a number of blocks (hence the term). Each block is a record of transactions of data - anything from Crypto to medical records.

Toronto Entrepreneur William Mougayar has made a clever metaphor, comparing Blockchain to a system like Google Docs. Unlike re-sending a word document for multiple edits, Google Docs allows us to create, view & edit information in a live document, given that we all have the link /location. In a similar way, blockchain allows for the immediate distribution of information. The network is set to update every single document, or block, when it's changed.

So why is it difficult to change or hack the system?

As new data comes in, it is entered into a fresh block. Once the block is filled with data, it is chained onto the previous block, which makes the data chained together in chronological order.
Blockchain technology enables decentralization through the participation of members across a distributed network. There is no single point of failure and a single user cannot change the record of transactions.

This is a complex concept, hard to condense into a few paragraphs. But I hope it brings a little intro to the technology for those that are still learning the ins and outs of the crypto world!

A cryptocurrency is a form of payment that can circulate without the need for a central monetary authority such as a government or bank.

Crypto investors like the fact that cryptocurrency removes central banks from managing the money supply, as over time these banks tend to reduce the value of money via inflation. (Hello COVID!!).

The technology behind most cryptocurrencies, called blockchain, is a decentralized processing and recording system which is more secure than traditional payment systems. (More on blockchain coming soon!)

While there are thousands of cryptocurrencies present in the market today, Bitcoin remains the most popular and valuable cryptocurrency. An anonymous person named Satoshi Nakamoto invented it back in 2008. He designed the cryptocurrency essentially as digital gold and capped the Bitcoin maximum supply to mimic the finite quantity of physical gold. The maximum number of bitcoins that can be issued—mined—is 21 million.

It’s / Thursday, and since we are sitting at the airport again, I’m throwing it back to this very special vacation back in 2018.

We’ve been blessed to be able to travel to many beautiful places, and this trip to Zimbabwe and South Africa is definitely at the top of the list.

Three years ago this week we were able to visit these beautiful countries and attend the wedding of a dear friend.

I think COVID has made many of us realize just how much we loved travelling (although that we already knew!) - but now we will definitely appreciate it that much more.

Now today, we are off to the west coast of Canada to see family that we haven’t seen in over a year due to COVID, and we are going to soak up every second. ✈️🌎❤️

Financing is one of the fastest ways to grow your real estate portfolio. 🏘

Option 1 – You buy a $1 million house in cash which brings in $72k in gross rent/year.

Or

Option 2 – Divide your million into 5 separate $200k down payments, use financing for the rest, and buy 5 multiplexes bringing in $72k EACH.

Hint - We say door #2.
We get it, not everyone has a million dollars laying around. THATS NOT THE POINT.

💵 Whether you have funds sitting as equity in your home, a HELOC on your property, or have savings sitting in the bank waiting for “the right moment” to get into the market – use your cash wisely.
