Birthday Rewind 🎂

There was a time when little voices helped me count the candles and tiny lungs leaned in to help blow them out. Birthdays were loud, joyful, and full of sweet chaos.

This year I still had help blowing out the candles, only now she towers over me. Life has a funny way of reminding you how quickly the years pass.

Before you start scrolling listings, grab a coffee (or a Caesar) and make your dream cottage checklist. It’s easy to fall in love with a view—but the right cottage fits your lifestyle and your people.

Start by consulting all the stakeholders (yes, even the teenagers and the dog 🐾). Ask yourself:

🏔️ Cathedral ceilings & stone fireplace, or rustic and simple?

🛏️ How many people do you need to sleep—just your crew, or extended family too?

🧺 Is laundry a must-have or a nice-to-have?

🍽️ How big does the dining room table need to be? Do you want to host big family dinners?
