Buying a home in Toronto? A home inspection can tell you more than a fresh coat of paint ever will.

From Cabbagetown Victorians to North York side splits and downtown condos, Toronto homes come with history and hidden surprises. Since 1978, Carson Dunlop has been helping buyers understand exactly what they’re walking into with same day digital reports and clear, plain language explanations.

We commonly uncover issues like:

• K**b & tube wiring
• Aluminum wiring
• Basement moisture and foundation concerns
• Kitec plumbing
• Aging cast iron stacks
• Vermiculite insulation
• Asbestos materials
• Roofs nearing end of life
• Condo balcony and envelope concerns

Some findings are urgent. Others are simply normal for the age of the home. The key is knowing the difference and having experts who explain it calmly and clearly.

Our goal is simple: help you understand what you’re buying and what you may need to plan for in the future.

No rainbows and blue skies. Just real expectations.

In a shifting market, the most important thing you can do is be honest from the start. Setting clear expectations around pricing, timelines, and possible outcomes helps clients prepare for what is ahead.

Because when people understand the worst case scenario, they are better equipped to handle whatever comes next.

If you are an agent and you have never attended a home inspection, you are missing a huge opportunity.

Being there helps you learn what to look for. Things like k**b and tube wiring, asbestos wrapped pipes, and other details that can make or break a deal.

That knowledge becomes a real advantage when you are walking through homes with your clients. It is not just about showing properties, it is about adding value and building trust.

Working alongside experienced professionals like Carson Dunlop gives you that edge.
