I’ve always wanted to take a “gap year”, but life always kept getting in the way. From grade 12, it was “go to university”. So I did. I studied a B.Sc. In Kinesiology. After uni, it was “go to work”. So I did. I started, grew and managed a real estate business for the next five years which I’ve been very fortunate and grateful to have met many amazing people and become the top 10% of salespeople in the Toronto Area!

BUT before I was told what the next predetermined step in my life was supposed to be AND After all of the turmoil we’ve gone through (and still are going through!) in the last few years, I figured it was “now or never”. I took a leap of faith into the unknown to start my “gap year” - an idea that’s been a seed growing in my brain for ten long-awaited years!

So far… it’s been incredible.

It’s been enlightening, humbling, eye-opening, depressing, friendly, loving, scary, enthralling, exciting, lonely, educational and joyous.

It’s made me a global citizen and showed even clearer the propaganda and singular stories we are fed through filters on a daily basis. It’s made me comfortable with change, allow joy, and embrace empathy. Above all else, it’s allowed some balance into my life and brought me to places I never thought I’d see and introduced me to people I never thought I’d meet in my wildest dreams. I am beyond grateful.

I hope you enjoy my visual diary as I walk myself down memory lane and try to catch up to present day.
