A big thank you toThe Daniels Corporation , one of this year’s Taste of Regent Park sponsors, for being such a wonderful part of our final event of the season. 💛

With the stormy weather moving Taste of Regent Park indoors, the evening looked a little different than planned, but the Daniels team didn’t miss a beat.

They jumped right in, keeping little hands busy at the children’s table, handing out freezies, chatting with neighbours and helping us hear directly from the community through our event survey. Most of all, they brought the kind of enthusiasm that makes a community event feel like a community event.

It was clear they weren’t just there to volunteer. They were enjoying the evening, meeting people and becoming part of the experience.

Thank you for supporting Taste of Regent Park this season and for showing up with such great energy for our final night.

What a great way to kick off the back-to-school season! 💛

We were so happy to join the Toronto Police Service 53 Division Back to School Community Safety BBQ again this year at Yonge Eglinton Centre.

It was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout and to spend the day meeting neighbours, catching up with familiar faces, and having so many great conversations with community members and partners.

A big thank you to 53 Division Toronto Police Service for having us back again this year. And an extra special shoutout to our amazing friends at Yonge Eglinton Centre. We always appreciate their support, their partnership, and the many ways they help bring the community together.

When Natalie arrived in Toronto from Kenya with her young daughter, she was rebuilding her life in a new and unfamiliar community. Through volunteering with Fred Victor’s 40 Oak meal program, she found connection, purpose, and a place to contribute.

Natalie’s dedication in the kitchen led to a paid peer cook assistant training opportunity, where she is now building culinary skills and experience for her future.
Her story shows how volunteering can create belonging, build confidence, and open doors to new opportunities.

This year, 941 volunteers with 8,200 volunteer hours providing vital support to people experiencing homelessness.

Your Street Eats ticket includes all food and drinks for the evening, with the chance to discover Toronto chefs, caterers, bakers and food makers while enjoying live entertainment and a great night out.

Every ticket helps support Fred Victor’s food programs and our goal of raising $240,000.

Today at Moss Park, we came together for International Overdose Awareness Day to remember those we have lost, stand with those who are still here, and recognize the work that continues to be needed to prevent overdose deaths.

Fred Victor was proud to stand alongside our health and community partners: Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre,South Riverdale Community Health Centre - SRCHC , Street Health , Regent Park Community Health Centre , PASAN , Street Haven at the Crossroads, Sherbourne Health, TNG Community Services and Toronto’s Drug Checking Service.

Together, we continue to advocate for evidence-informed harm reduction, health care and social supports that keep people alive and connected to care.

It was also wonderful to see Kristyn Wong-Tam, Member of Provincial Parliament for Toronto Centre, at Moss Park today, joining community members, frontline workers and organizations in recognizing this important day.

Thank you to everyone who gathered to remember, connect and stand together.

Maria once had an apartment, a beloved cat, and neighbours who knew her for sharing homemade treats. As her mental health declined, maintaining her routines, relationships, and housing became increasingly difficult, leading to greater isolation and instability.

Through Fred Victor’s community-based mental health support, Maria found patience and care instead of judgment. Staff helped her stay connected to services and begin rebuilding trust and stability.

Maria’s story shows why mental health support is housing support. When people are met with compassion and consistent care, they have a stronger foundation to stabilize and move toward home.

This year, 2,981 people received mental health support. A 55% increase compared to last year.

When Andre connected with Fred Victor, years of homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use had made it difficult to manage his health, appointments, and court requirements.

Through Fred Victor’s Mental Health and Justice support, Andre received help navigating the legal system while connecting with shelter, health care, income support, harm reduction, and other essential services.

With a safe place to stay and ongoing support, Andre began rebuilding routines and working toward longer-term housing. His story shows how coordinated justice and housing supports can help people move from crisis toward stability.

1,300 people supported to divert from the criminal justice system to mental health services. An 9% increase compared to last year.
