Thanks to Investment Management , support for Fred Victor’s 10th Annual Street Eats can go even further.

As our Matching Donor, MFS is matching eligible donations to Street Eats dollar-for-dollar through October 30, up to the applicable matching limit. That means every eligible dollar donated can become two dollars in support of Fred Victor’s food and meal programs.

With a fundraising goal of $240,000, this partnership gives our community another powerful way to help ensure people across Toronto have access to nourishing meals.

A safe place to call home should not be a privilege. It should be a right.

October 17 marks the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, a reminder that poverty is about more than income. It's about dignity, opportunity, security, and the ability to build a better future.

This year's United Nations observance focuses on “Safe Homes for All,” recognizing that safe and stable housing is fundamental to overcoming poverty.

At Fred Victor, we see this connection every day.

Without a safe place to call home, everything becomes more difficult, from maintaining good health and finding employment to accessing nutritious food and building meaningful connections.

And while providing immediate support is essential, ending poverty also means addressing the systemic barriers that prevent people from moving forward.

It means listening to people with lived experience, creating more affordable and supportive housing, and ensuring that everyone has access to the opportunities and resources they need.

Because ending poverty isn't just about helping people survive. It's about creating the conditions for everyone to thrive.
