What's to come of Toronto's Real Estate Market in 2023🤷🏻‍♀️

A question I get asked so frequently. And while none of us hold a crystal ball 🔮 there are several factors, specifically historical trends that can offer insight into the year ahead.

With lots of scary media headlines and the most recent interest rate hike by the BOC, there are lots of fear based predictions circling around.

Here are some of my thoughts based on actively working in this market daily and historical trends.

▪️When you are reading or listening to today's headlines, we must keep in mind that this is often a year over year comparison. As 2021 was a RECORD breaking year for the GTA Real Estate Market we must look beyond this comparison to years previous. Stats will show you that despite the massive jump to the cost of borrowing, the numbers are not as "doom and gloom" as they may appear!

▪️When we see drastic changes within our market, consumers' natural reaction is to "freeze and hold" in other words make NO move at all. This reaction has inevitably slowed down sales but as we adjust to our new normal I strongly believe that consumer confidence will resume in our market.

▪️The most consistent factor in price stability/growth in our market is SUPPLY & DEMAND. With our current and consistent shortage of inventory, there is no doubt that Real Estate will continue to be the most stable (long term) investment.

If you have the ability to get into the market at today's rate and can weather this storm (especially now with soaring rental prices) there is a ton of opportunity out there!
