GTA Renters - are you noticing that rent prices are going through the roof? The 2023 outlook is not looking any easier โ€” increased population growth, low vacancy, and limited new rental construction are among many factors pushing prices upwards.

In addition, private landlords are getting more strict with who they let rent their property (the Landlord and Tenant Board donโ€™t make it simple to evict trouble tenants!)

So how do we manage? Simple - stand out with a strong, competitive application!

When looking for a new rental, the best way to set yourself up is to prepare the following documents for all working applicants:

- Up-to-date employment letters
- 2-3 recent paystubs
- Full credit report with score and details (landlords prefer Equifax or Transunion)

These documents are the minimum requirements to submit with any offer placed. So, I encourage all my clients to have this prepared by the time we go for showings so we can act efficiently on anything we see and like.
