The GTA real estate market is showing signs of strengthening.
In May 2026, home sales increased by 6.3% compared to last year, while new listings declined by 18.9%. As inventory continues to shrink, buyers are facing more competition in many neighbourhoods across the GTA.

Key highlights:
• Home sales up 6.3% year-over-year
• New listings down 18.9%
• Sales up 10% from April
• Average GTA home price: $1,069,700
While buyers still have choices, the market is becoming more balanced. If these trends continue, we could see prices stabilize and begin moving upward in the months ahead.
